Rifaximin 550 mg Tablets

You can take a tablet of rifaximin orally, with or without food. For three days, rifaximin is often given three times a day in order to treat traveler's diarrhoea. Usually used twice daily, rifaximin is used to avoid episodes of hepatic encephalopathy. Rifaximin is often used three times a day for 14 days while treating irritable bowel syndrome. Take rifaximin at roughly the same times each day to help you remember to take it. Make sure you carefully follow the instructions on the label of your medication, and ask your chemist or doctor to clarify anything you are unsure about. As recommended, take Rifaximin precisely. Avoid taking it more or less frequently or in excess ofprescribed by your doctor.

If you are taking rifaximin to treat traveler's diarrhea, your symptoms should improve within 24 to 48 hours after you start taking the medication.
