Rifaximax 100mg/5ml Suspension isprimarily used to treat diarrhea, It hinders the growth of the bacteria Escherichia coli (Travellers diarrhea). It should be avoided if you are suffering from fever and are losing blood from your stool.

Rifaximin is usedto treat travelers diarrhea that is caused by a bacteria called Escherichia coli. It is also used to prevent hepatic encephalopathy, which is a condition that occurs when your liver does not work normally. This medicine is also used to treat irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea.

For treatment of travelers diarrhea: Adults and children 12 years of age and older 200 milligrams (mg) 3 times a day for 3 days.Children younger than 12 years of age Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.
